The NeuroTuristic project will enable the understanding and measurement of users’ behaviors and emotions in the HORECA industry to adapt establishments accordingly, enhance their well-being, and improve the sustainability of the space itself.

The information we receive through our senses influences our emotional responses and overall well-being. This is true for all processes and activities we engage in, including those related to the tourism industry. Therefore, to enhance user experiences, achieve differentiation, strengthen competitiveness in the HORECA industry, and increase the sustainability of establishments, it is essential to understand, consider, and incorporate users’ emotions into the design and management of processes.

This is the goal of NeuroTuristic, an innovative project involving the technological company Goli Neuromarketing, the internationally recognized Hotel Universitari Alimara for responsible hospitality, and the gastronomic retail brand Chök.

How Will We Achieve This?

To achieve this, user and employee behaviors, interactions, and emotions will be objectively and anonymously measured and analyzed across several tourist establishments.

Small camera-like sensors will be installed in these spaces to non-invasively collect this information, which will be transformed into real-time data using the artificial intelligence platform Golineuro AI. These sensors do not record or store images at any time, ensuring complete respect for personal data and privacy.

With this data, tourist spaces can be designed more dynamically, adaptively, and sustainably, considering how their design impacts environmental health, the well-being of users and employees, and the overall sustainability of the space. NeuroTuristic aims to activate a new “sensory” function in tourist spaces, adapting them based on real experiences and the holistic well-being of the people using them. This will create more engaging, immersive, and memorable experiences.

Additionally, the system will identify and measure resource consumption trends within the establishment, enabling improved sustainability by reducing environmental impact, cutting costs, and minimizing the carbon footprint.

Goli Neuromarketing, leveraging its extensive experience in neurotechnology and advanced information system integration, will lead the implementation and adaptation of the key technologies involved in the project. The Hotel Universitari Alimara will facilitate the preparation, analysis, design, and deployment of these technologies in real hospitality contexts. Chök, a pioneer in applying neuromarketing principles to the design of gastronomic retail spaces, will contribute by expanding the technological system’s application potential to optimize efficiency in tourism businesses focused on gastronomic products.

About NeuroTuristic

NeuroTuristic is a project developed by a consortium led by the Hotel Universitari Alimara in collaboration with Goli Neuromarketing and Chök. It is funded by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Tourism as part of the Última Milla program’s second round of grants for the digitalization of tourism businesses.
